There are works of art that have become a legend, and not only in literature, painting or music. Some of them can be found in photography. And one example is doubtless the twin-lens 6 x 6 Rolleiflex. When it was first introduced in 1929, it was a sensation: a brilliant camera design, which made the Rolleiflex quickly known worldwide. No master photographer who would not use it, no apprentice who would not wish to master it. For professional photographers, the Rolleiflex was a "must" for creative ideas. There were no magazines and photo books that would not contain Rollei photos. For decades, Rolleiflex cameras were to have a decisive effect on photographic history. Many great pioneers of photography used them to create world famous images. That was the prelude for further technical development and for a number of successful cameras. And one thing is certain: wherever in the world an event was unfolding that would change the course of history, it was faithfully recorded with a Rolleiflex camera. DaIts countless imitations are a simple proof of the Rolleiflex’ trendsetting design. The original, however, was never reached. This is why lovers of twin-lens and professional photographers have approached Rollei time and again with suggestions that this classical camera concept be continued with state of the art technology. The results are the latest Rolleiflex models: the classic twin-lens design, combined with a practical manual exposure metering indicated by colored LED’s. The twin-lens Rolleiflex is proof that good ideas will never age. Weitere Informationen: |
